I must admit I grew up with a healthy fear of my father. I never doubted he loved me but I also never doubted that he was serious about the rules he set in the governing of his home. You see Dad did not buy into this democracy trend that was popular. He wasn’t real concerned about squelching our personalities. We were a “yes sir” and “no ma’am” household. Sometimes I think our generation doesn’t “fear the Lord enough.” It is as if we don’t appreciate His awesome power or that we don’t understand the consequence of breaking His laws. As the New Testament states, “perfect love cast out all fear.” Yet Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments. |

The Psalmist understood the secret to being happy, to blessings; blessed is the man that fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. |

Lord I am so glad that I can come into your presence with boldness, but I will never enter in without giving you the respect and honor you deserve. Amen. |
