God's Favor

Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

Have you ever wondered how Mary must have felt when an angel informed her that she had been selected to be the mother of the Messiah? What an honor! But wait, I am about to be married and what if my husband to be doesn’t believe me? What if the neighbors talk about me? What if mom and dad think I have been immoral? God can you just find someone else? But you know Mary did not say these things, instead she says I will do whatever you need God. Maybe that is why He picked her to begin with, maybe that is why she had “found favor with God.” |

What about you, when God calls and that interferes with your plans do you complain or rejoice, do you find excuses or exalt Him for even considering you. I must admit there have been times in my life when I have thought why am I doing this, I had it easier, more comfortable, there were less problems…but the bottom line is that the favor of God does not mean there will be no obstacles, it simply means that God will be with us, and hopefully that is enough for us to also say, be it unto me according to thy will. |
