What Ya Got Under the Bed?
Howard Peterson
Listen
He said to them, "Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don't you put it on its stand? For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:21-22)
Inquire
My favorite thoughts come from seeing those that I have been fortunate to see experiencing God-Jesus & the Holy Spirit for the first time. And yet many times my candle is under a bowl. No one sees the light that way.
Faith
A close family friend died today; as of yet I do not know what from or how? I first cried and then was fine but am puzzled as to how it happened and why. Should this even matter to me at this point? For my friend is dead and nothing now will change that fact. My real concern, my real worry and my greatest fear is wondering did he in fact know Jesus? Did he know the One True God…the Triune God…Father ~ Son ~ Holy Spirit? This is what matters now, this is what should have mattered to me the last time I saw him at my parents house for Christmas but it wasn’t. It was good to see him but no more. I had the chance to ask him but no more. I had the chance to show him and tell him of the Love of Christ but no stinking more. Human death on earth is final to us. We don’t get to know any Eternity answers until it’s our turn. We can know for sure who’s going where if we’ve asked before hand, but after is too late. My friend is either in Heaven with Christ Jesus or he is in Hell. It’s one or the other and of course I as would you hope my friend got to go to Heaven. Here still on earth we must be sure as to how important asking others about their beliefs is for their Eternity sake.
Experience
Father God, this little light of mine…I’m gonna let it shine…let it shine, let it shine. Amen and Amen
